本专业培养德、智、体全面发展,具有坚实的理论基础、系统的专业知识、熟练的专业技能和国际化视野,能从事跨文化新闻传播研究与应用的高层次专门人才。要求学生符合学校招收和培养国际学生管理办法规定,遵守法律法规,能够把握现代新闻传播职业理念,恪守新闻传播职业道德;具有熟练的业务能力和较强的理论研究能力,能适应新媒体传播时代的技术要求以从事相关工作;掌握传播学理论与传播学应用技能、跨文化传播理论与实际业务、新媒体经济和新媒体产业相关知识。


一、招生人数

2022年的计划招生人数在20名以内。

三、修业年限

1.硕士研究生基本修业年限(学制)为 2 年,最长修业年限为 5 年。

2.硕士生原则上应在第二学期结束前完成课程学习,最长不得超过第三学期。

3.硕士生在基本修业年限内还必须完成社会实践、中期考核、开题报告等环节且考核合格。


四、培养方式

1.在指导形式上,导师组集体指导全体学生与导师指导自己名下的学生相结合。

2.在学生能力的培养上,注重学生的学习能力培养和研究能力培养相结合。

3.在教学过程中,将教师讲解和学生讨论相结合。

硕士研究生总学分要求 32 学分,其中课程学分 29 学分,社会实践 3 学分。

六、申请条件

1.持外国护照的非中国籍公民,身体健康,品行端正,以往无违法犯罪记录,对华友好,遵守中国政府的法律、法规和学校的规章制度。对于中国大陆(内地)、香港、澳门和台湾居民在移民外国后作为外国留学生申请者,应于 2016 年 4 月 30 日之前持有有效的外国护照或国籍证明文件,并拥有已注销中国国籍的证明;


2.申请攻读硕士学位研究生须具有学士学位,毕业于非中国大陆院校的申请者必须持有中国教育部认可院校的学士学位;


3.托福考试高于90分,或雅思考试高于6.5分(其中雅思写作部分不低于6.5)。来自母语为英语的国家或者大学教育完全由英语教学的申请者无须提供英语考试成绩(符合此项要求的需提供英语授课证明)。


七、申请流程

1.  申请人需要登录中央民族大学留学生报名网站http://lxs.muc.edu.cn/member/login.do完成网上申请,上传相关证明材料;

2. 在线关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果。我校在审核入学资格时有权要求面试,请申请者定期查收邮箱,保持通讯畅通;

3. 申请截止时间(以北京时间为准):7月31日

4. 按我校录取通知书规定的时间入学注册。


八、申请材料

申请者应提交如下材料(所有的材料均使用英文撰写,如果无法提供英文的,请附官方英文翻译):

1. 护照首页。如现持有护照有效期不符合要求(护照有效期应晚于 2022 年 9 月),请及时换发新护照。

2. 经公证的最高学历证明。如申请人为在校学生,须提交本人就读学校出具的预计毕业证明或在学证明。

3. 学习成绩单(自本科阶段起)。成绩单扫描件应包括本科、硕士(如有)、博士(如有)学习阶段,直至最近一学期的成绩。成绩单应由就读学校教务处、研究生院或有关学生管理部门开具并盖章。可提供中/英文成绩单,如为英语以外语种,需另提供英文翻译件并公证。

4. 语言能力证明。托福或雅思考试的成绩单原件或复印件(注:大学教育完全由英语教学的申请者可提供英语授课证明替代)。

5.  来华学习计划。应提交中/英文学习计划(1000 字以上),博士研究生须由中方导师签字,学习计划只可以用中文或者英文书写。

6. 推荐信。提交两名教授或副教授的推荐信,内容应重点包含对申请人来华学习目标要求,中方院校或者中方导师与国外导师的合作情况或者校际交流情况,以及对学生综合能力,未来发展的评价,只可用中文或英文书写。

7. 《外国人体格检查表》复印件(原件自行保存,此表格由中国卫生检疫部门统一印制,须英文填写)。申请人应严格按照《外国人体格检查表》中要求的项目进行检查。缺项、未贴有本人照片或照片上未盖骑缝章、无医师和医院签字盖章的《外国人体格检查表》无效,检查结果有效期为 6 个月。

8. 无犯罪记录证明。申请人须提交由所在地公安机关出具的有效期内的无犯罪记录证明,通常应为提交申请之日前 6 个月以内的证明文件。

9.  汉语水平证明(不要求,如有请提供)。

10. 完成网上申请后,打印申请表,并粘贴2寸免冠证件照。


九、入学时间

新生于2022年9月初报到入学,具体时间以录取通知书为准。录取的学生须严格按照录取通知书规定的时间到中央民族大学办理入学、注册手续。


十、学费

本项目学费为每年30000元人民币。学费以人民币缴纳。


十一、食宿安排

中央民族大学解决食宿,学生自己承担费用。


十二、可申请的奖学金种类

1. 中国政府来华留学卓越奖学金:免学费,免住宿费,每月按照国家规定提供生活费,提供医疗保险。

2. 中国政府奖学金:免部分学费,免住宿费,每月按照国家规定提供生活费,提供医疗保险。

3. 北京市政府奖学金:免部分学费,其他费用自理。

Minzu University of China

Admission Information for Master’s in Communication Study

Master’s in Communication Study Program ensures students the comprehensive development in moral, intelligence, and physical education. This program is dedicated to preparing superb professionals, specialists, and researchers with a solid theoretical foundation, systematic knowledge structure, skillful application abilities, and international perspective in the field of intercultural journalism and communication. Applicants and candidates are supposed to (a) meet the recruitment eligibilities of Regulations for International Students of MUC, abide by Chinese laws and policies, understand contemporary work ethics of journalism and communication, and stick to the journalism code of ethics; (b) possess good practical skills and theoretical research abilities, and be adaptable to the technical requirements in the era of new media; (c) understand communication theories and methods, intercultural/cross-cultural communication theories and practices, and relevant knowledge about new media industries and digital media economics.

3. Study Period


3.1 The standard time for finishing the master’s program is 2 years and the maximum is 5 years.

3.2 Students who take this program are supposed to finish all the coursework by the end of the second semester and should not exceed the third semester.

3.3 Students who take this program need to accomplish social practice requirements, pass the mid-term qualification assessment and submit the eligible thesis proposal, etc.


4. Educational Philosophy

4.1 Students will be under the supervision of a group of committee members and a specialized supervisor.

4.2 We aim to integrate students’ learning skills with research abilities in our courses.

4.3 We encourage integrating lecturers’ instructions with students’ interactions in the class.

6. Admission Requirements

6.2 Applicants for master's degree studies must have a bachelor's degree. Applicants who graduated from a non-mainland Chinese institution must hold a bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education.


6.3 Applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide valid English test certificates: TOEFL iBT (90 points or above) or IELTS (6.5 points or above, with a minimum of 6.5 in writing) to prove their English language proficiency. Applicants are exempt from the English Proficiency requirement if they have completed a bachelor's degree (or higher) in an English-speaking country or at an institution where English is the main language of instruction (candidates who meet this requirement must provide proof of English language instruction).


7. Application Procedures

7.1 Applicants shall all make an online application at http://lxs.muc.edu.cn/member/login.do

7.2 Applicants should follow the application process, and review comments and scholarship evaluation results online. We reserve the right to request an interview when reviewing admissions, so please check your email regularly and keep your communication open.

7.3 Application deadline (Beijing time): July 31

7.4 Enroll in the school at the time specified in our admission notice.


8. Required Documents

Applicants should submit the following documents (all materials should be written in English, please attach an official English translation if English is not available). A completed application includes:

8.1 Copy of the passport front page

If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport is not expired before September 2022), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application.

8.2 A notarized highest diploma

Prospective diploma recipients must submit official proof of student status in their current school.

8.3 Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards)

Applicants shall provide copies of academic records from the first to the last semester during the undergraduate, master’s (if any), and doctoral programs (if any). These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attended university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English and must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English.

8.4 Proof of language proficiency. Original or copy of transcripts of TOEFL or IELTS examinations (Note: Applicants whose university education was taught entirely in English may provide proof of instruction in English instead).

8.5 A research proposal. The research proposal should be submitted in Chinese/English (1000 words or more). In the meantime, the proposal for Ph.D. students must be signed by the potential Chinese supervisor.

8.6 Letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors should be submitted, focusing on the applicant's objectives for study in China, the cooperation between the Chinese institution or Chinese supervisor and the foreign supervisor or inter-university exchange, and the evaluation of the student's overall ability and future development, in Chinese or English only.

8.7 A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the applicant shall keep the original copy)

The form is issued by the Chinese quarantine authority and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the attending physician’s signature, the official stamp of the hospital, or a stamped photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination, as the result is valid for only 6 months.

8.8 Non-criminal record report

The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

8.9 Proof of Chinese language proficiency (not required, please provide if available).

8.10 After completing the online application, print the application form and paste the 2-inch bareheaded certificate photo.


9.Admission Period

Students should register in early September 2022, subject to the acceptance letter. Accepted students are required to go through the admission and registration procedures at Minzu University of China strictly in accordance with the time specified in the acceptance letter.


10. Tuition Fee

Tuition for this program is CNY 30000 per year. Tuition fees are payable in RMB.


11. Accommodation

Minzu University of China will provide room and board at the student's own expense.


12. Scholarships

12.1 Youth of Excellence Scheme of China , Tuition waiver, free accommodation, monthly living expenses in accordance with national regulations, medical insurance provided.

12.2 Chinese Government Scholarship, Partial tuition fee waiver, accommodation fee waiver, monthly living expenses in accordance with national regulations, medical insurance provided.

12.3 Beijing Government Scholarship, Partial waiver of tuition fees.
